Simon Ungers (1957-2006), son of O.M. Ungers, bound architecture and art throughout his career. His series “Silent Architecture” (2003-2004), today part of the collection of the SF MOMA, features models and drawings of imaginary architecture. Four civic buildings (Public library, Cathedral, Museum, Theatre) are represented as absolute and isolated models over a uniform background, in order to create a catalogue of contemporary monuments. Stern and rigorous, these imaginary structures and their affirmative volumes, place themselves in continuity with Boullée’s and Ledoux researches. The steel models that accompany the printings are reminescent of minimalist sculptures and bring Unger’s works to a further level of abstraction.  from - http://socks-studio.com
